When she wrote the words she was finishing college
She took such a long time
Her parents were worried about what she was up to
I thought that she seemed fine
Why don't they just leave you alone?
And let's see what you become

She tore out the page
And she lost the page number
She said she'd never want it back
And she said, "Pardon me please this once
A very tired image
I think I just jumped the track
And I don't want to go back from here
No I don't want to run out of fear
Why don't they just leave me alone?
Let's see what I become"

Three years later I gave her a bookmark
I didn't mean it as a joke
But that's how she took it
She didn't even get it
She put it away and she spoke:
"Are you really having fun these days?
And do you still love guitars?"
I feel alright to me these days
I feel alright to me these days
And I feel alright to me
I feel alright to me

about

The Vestrymen Amherst, Massachusetts

Beginning in 1986 in Amherst, MA, The Vestrymen brought a folkier, psychedelic hue to the "Western Mass" sound forged by Dinosaur Jr, Buffalo Tom, etc.
